When can I expect a dividend on my brokerage account?

I bought an ETF (VTI ticker) and owned it when the ETF was paying dividend. What are the rules for receiving. Owning the fund just one day prior dividend pay-out is enough? When the dividend arrives?. What is the usual delay or is a delay usual? If I sell the fund a week after dividend decision, will I still get it when it is actually transferred later?

You must own a stock on the closing date to qualify for any dividend.





For each share of VTI you owned on the ex-date ( 9/24/2007 ), you will get 0.642 cash, probably paid into the cash account holding your shares. Payable date for that dividend was 9/28/2007, so if you qualify you should have it shortly. If you have a certificate, they will send you a check to your address of record.





It is all but IMPOSSIBLE to buy and sell stocks to take advantage of dividends, because the whole market knows when they will be paid out, so the market naturally imposes a discount or premium on the price that effectively eliminates that possibility!





If you want to earn "free money" from dividends, just buy Dow stocks.
Reply:You need to own the stock on whats called the "ex-dividend date" to get the dividend. This is typically 2-3 weeks before the dividend is paid. On the fund website, there is probably a section somewhere on when the ex-dividend date is. They may also give the "record date." The ex-dividend date is also 3 business days before the record date. Owning it a few days before the pay date is not early enough.

Reply:There are many banks that offer good rates for direct banking (ING, Capital One, etc). You should compare rates for several of these before you commit. If you want to lock the money away, consider IRAs. Usually you cannot take money out until you 59 1/2 years old.

When you close your Yahoo account does the Y!A profile remain? I know the questions and answers do but if you click on the nickname would you go nowhere or to the old profile? Do points remain and would the person remain in the leaderboard or top answerers?

I think you stay on the leaderboard, as I got people contacting me on an acc that had been suspended for 12 months, also a best answer for that acc %26amp; it showed I was still on level 6 %26amp; had all my points. So why won't they let me have it back? Who knows?

Your answer is yes.





Once you terminate your own account, it gets deleted within 99 days, but the account will remain on Answers, and the points stay with the account as well.





When you click on an account that was deleted by the creator rather than by CC for CG or TOS violation, you will be taken to a page that displays a message that says:

Conversely, the only way to locate someone's account that was deleted is by going through someone's else profile network where the deleted account is attached ( i.e. if you were my contact, your account can be located through my profile network)

the lowest you pay will be like 8.99 per month... be careful about ur internet speed/video quality I signed up yesterday and the first movie i put on my xbox said that my video quality was slow and the picture was soo blurry my eyes were hurting. i had to stop it. i got a video with smaller length of time and it was fine... so idk wats up with that lol but you can get the one where you get 1 dvd at a time and watch it and then remove it and go pick another and watch it and so on. there isnt really any need to be able to have more than one dvd at a time... hope this helps!
Reply:Any of the "Unlimited" accounts, which start at $8.99 for the 1-at-a-time. I have the 2-at-a-time account and it's $13.99. I really like being able to watch them directly on my laptop. I pretty much watch one every night when I'm in bed. The selection isn't nearly as big as the hardcopy DVDs but there's still more than you could ever watch, LOL.

First, in looking for it, it told me I had to be using the Yahoo Classic interface.





Options, Switch to Yahoo Mail Classic, Options, Mail Options, General Preferences, and "From Name:" under Name and Email.





I had trouble finding it until I switched to classic. YOu can always go back to the new format after you change.

if you're administrator you can't cahnge your name, but if you have a temproary account, you can.
